Xu Lun, Vice President and CFO of Hangzhou Water Meter, was invited to attend the 10th Smart Water Management Construction and Operation Forum and delivered a technical report titled "A Simple and Practical Precision Leak Detection Meter." Guided by the principle of "Originating from the Water Industry, Understanding It Better," the company focuses on addressing the pain points and challenges in pipeline network leakage. Traditional methods such as acoustic listening and pressure detection are costly to implement and susceptible to environmental interference, making it difficult to achieve precise measurement of daily leakage. Currently, DMA (District Metering Area) zoning management is the mainstream method for controlling pipeline network leakage in cities, with minimum night flow being the most intuitive and straightforward metric within this approach.

The company has provided the "Hangzhou Water Meter Solution" to address the three critical questions in DMA zoning: "Is there a leak?", "How much is leaking?", and "Where is the leak?". With its unique patented technology, the SU electromagnetic water meter actively transmits a set of flow data every 1.8 seconds, enabling precise capture of instantaneous flow—representing the actual water loss. Compared to traditional ultrasonic or electromagnetic water meters, which are constrained by high power consumption and rely on strong electrical supply, the SU electromagnetic water meter consumes only one ten-thousandth of the power and requires no external RTU power supply. This precision leak detection solution is perfectly suited for district metering applications. By installing just one SU electromagnetic water meter as the DMA assessment master meter, the exact amount of leakage can be determined. Adding graded metering assessment meters further helps pinpoint specific leakage locations. This solution has demonstrated remarkable results in multiple DMA zoning applications, effectively reducing pipeline network leakage rates to ensure safe and stable water supply. With its simple and practical approach, Hangzhou Water Meter is driving the advancement of water supply safety, earning widespread acclaim from water utility clients.
