Shining in Shenzhen — Pioneering a New Chapter in Smart Water Management
In the golden autumn season, Shenzhen hosted two major events in the water industry. From October 28 to 30, the "10th Urban Water Industry Flow Meter Technology and Application Seminar" took the lead, followed by the successful "2025 Environmental Water Industry Technology Expo" at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center from November 14 to 16. At both exhibitions, Hangzhou Water Meter showcased a range of innovative products and solutions, including AI camera direct-read water meters and SU electromagnetic water meters, garnering widespread attention and positive feedback from the industry.
AI Camera Direct-Read Water Meter
This product simplifies meter reading, helping water utilities improve efficiency and reduce costs. Developed based on the industry's first vertical large model, it deeply integrates AI image recognition technology and is compatible with various traditional mechanical meters, achieving the breakthrough of "what the human eye can discern, AI can identify." In live demonstrations, even in complex scenarios such as dirty, blurry, or glare-affected meter dials, its recognition accuracy remains as high as 99.99%, demonstrating exceptional environmental adaptability. Vice President Xu Lun highlighted in his thematic report that this technology provides a novel solution for the low-cost retrofitting of mechanical water meters and the replacement of remote-read meters.
This product not only addresses industry challenges but also expands new scenarios for smart water management. First, the AI module is reusable, significantly reducing long-term operational costs. Second, it enables convenient retrofitting of mechanical meters without removing the original meter, allowing for immediate installation and use. Third, it intelligently assesses the meter dial's condition, providing timely warnings for abnormal glass conditions and aiding in early detection of freezing risks. Fourth, it supports meter reading via smartphone photos, with backend intelligent recognition, greatly reducing reliance on specialized personnel. Fifth, in large-diameter meter reading scenarios, the accuracy of remotely transmitted data is significantly enhanced, ensuring both efficiency and reliability.

SU Electromagnetic Water Meter
Precision monitoring for pipeline leakage control. To tackle the long-standing challenge of pipeline leakage, Hangzhou Water Meter showcased its high-precision SU electromagnetic water meter. Utilizing proprietary residual excitation technology, the product ensures data accuracy with an ultra-high excitation frequency of 0.3 seconds, actively uploading instantaneous flow data every 1.8 seconds for real-time, precise monitoring of pipeline water flow changes. It is specially designed to capture minimal nighttime flows, effectively identifying minor leaks downstream of the meter and accurately calculating leakage volumes. This significantly simplifies the process of leak detection and control. The product has been selected as a national demonstration project for energy and resource measurement services and excels in DMA zoning applications, providing water utilities with a reliable tool for refined management.
IoT Valve-Controlled Water Meter
Addressing the pain points of valve control in water billing scenarios, Hangzhou Water Meter's IoT split-type valve-controlled remote-read water meter also attracted significant attention. With its core advantages of remote real-time response and precise valve switching, water utilities can efficiently manage water usage without on-site personnel. Live demonstrations at the exhibition vividly showcased its rapid response capabilities in scenarios such as overdue fee management and emergency valve shutdowns, truly achieving the management upgrade of "letting data do the work, reducing personnel efforts," while significantly lowering labor costs and safety risks.
The two exhibitions successfully established a platform for in-depth exchanges among technology, market, and clients, highlighting both the urgent need for digital transformation in the water industry and Hangzhou Water Meter's commitment and capability to solve practical challenges with technology. Moving forward, Hangzhou Water Meter will continue to prioritize technological innovation as its core driving force, closely addressing industry pain points and development needs. It will persistently optimize product performance and user experience, tailor comprehensive and reliable smart water management solutions for the industry, and collaborate with peers to chart a new blueprint for development.
